We want riders to understand what information is needed, why it is needed, and where they have choices. MVX does not need a traditional rider profile simply to create a useful ride experience.
1. Privacy First at MVX
MVX Ride is designed around data minimization. We do not require a traditional rider profile simply to explore and use the rider experience. We aim to process only information reasonably needed to provide, operate, secure and improve the ride service.
Privacy First does not mean that no information is ever processed. A ride service must process certain information to calculate a journey, request a vehicle, connect a rider with a Transportation Partner, process payment, communicate service information, support safety and maintain required operational records.
2. Information we process
Depending on how you use MVX Ride, information processed may include:
- pickup and destination information;
- location information when you grant the app location permission or use location-based ride features;
- rider or passenger details that you provide for a ride;
- ride details such as route, requested vehicle category, fare, status and timestamps;
- contact information used to support a ride or service communication;
- payment-related transaction information received from our payment providers, without MVX storing your full payment-card credentials;
- device, diagnostic, security and technical information reasonably required to operate and protect the service; and
- information you voluntarily provide when contacting support.
Some rider preferences or details may be stored locally on your device to simplify the experience. Locally stored information can be distinct from operational ride records that Moovyme must process to deliver or document a requested service.
3. Location information
MVX may use location information when you permit it in order to help identify pickup points, preview routes, calculate trip information and support an active ride. MVX is designed not to continuously track a rider outside the ride-related experience merely for advertising purposes.
You can manage location permissions through your device settings. Limiting location access may require you to enter pickup or destination information manually and may affect location-dependent features.
4. Seniors & Family — booking for someone else
MVX Ride allows a person to arrange transportation for another passenger. When you use this feature, you are responsible for providing accurate passenger and pickup information and for having appropriate authority or permission to provide that information to MVX for the requested ride.
Passenger information is used to coordinate and fulfill the journey, including making necessary information available to the Transportation Partner assigned to the ride.
5. Payments and Apple Pay
MVX supports payment through trusted payment infrastructure, including Apple Pay where available. Payment providers may process information under their own privacy terms and security controls. MVX does not store your full payment-card credentials.
Moovyme may receive transaction identifiers, payment status, amounts and related information needed to confirm payment, reconcile a ride, respond to disputes and maintain appropriate business records.
6. RideMVX.ca website analytics
RideMVX.ca uses Google Analytics 4 to understand website activity such as page visits, engagement and conversion events, including App Store link interactions. Website analytics are separate from the core native ride-booking experience.
Analytics may involve device, browser, approximate location and interaction information as provided by the analytics service. Moovyme uses this information to understand website performance and improve marketing and conversion journeys.
7. Service providers and Transportation Partners
Moovyme uses specialized service providers and infrastructure to operate MVX, including hosting/database infrastructure, payment processing, mapping/routing, communications and analytics. Information is shared with these providers only as reasonably necessary for the service they perform.
Information necessary to fulfill a ride may also be made available to the assigned Transportation Partner, such as pickup and destination details, passenger information and ride instructions.
Some providers may process information outside Ontario or Canada. When information is processed by a service provider, it may be subject to the laws applicable where that provider operates.
8. Retention and security
Moovyme seeks to retain personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purpose for which it was processed, including providing rides, customer support, security, payment reconciliation, dispute handling, legal obligations and legitimate business recordkeeping.
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the information. No electronic system can be guaranteed to be completely secure, and users should also protect access to their device.
9. Your choices and privacy rights
You can manage app permissions through your device settings and can remove locally stored rider details through available MVX/device controls where supported. You may also contact Moovyme regarding access to, correction of, or questions about personal information under applicable Canadian privacy law.
Requests may require reasonable identity verification. Certain information may need to be retained where required for legal, security, financial, dispute-resolution or legitimate operational purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service, technology or legal requirements evolve. The effective date shown at the top of this page identifies the current published version.

This public policy is intended to describe MVX's current privacy approach in clear language. It should be reviewed periodically against the production architecture and by qualified Canadian privacy/legal counsel as the service expands.
